To the editor:

The irony is not lost!  John Surratt (Vicksburg Post – 26 April, 18), in yet another attempt to disparage the President, invokes the example of Dan Rather in an effort to bolster his narrative that the President is wrong in his charges of “fake news”. 

Yes, that Dan Rather — the former CBS News anchor who was fired in disgrace for intentionally lying about the military service of former President George W. Bush. 

Mr. Surratt should more carefully choose his subject matter experts. Lying = fake news.
