BROOKHAVEN — A Brookhaven woman was hospitalized after ramming her car into the back of a house in Wesson Saturday.  The same thing happened in Brookhaven with another driver the next day.

Lt. Keith Stevens with the Wesson Police Department said Marquita Lenoir was traveling southbound on East Railroad Street when the car left the road and hit a fence and a tree before crashing into the utility room of a house at about 10:50 p.m.

The driver was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The collision remains under investigation, Stevens said.

Brookhaven firefighters responded Sunday about 7:18 a.m. to a collision at 515 South Second St. The car hit the back of the house owned by Elmer Smith, causing some damage.

“It knocked the house off the blocks a little bit,” said Brookhaven Police Chief Kenneth Collins.

Collins said the driver, Victor Diggs, lost control of his car due to medical reasons.
