Paws Golf Tournament

Paws Rescue’s second annual “Golf 4 Paws” charity golf tournament is scheduled for May 18 at Clear Creek Golf Course. Registration and lunch begin at noon, and the tournament at 1 p.m.

The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $70 per person and $280 per team. All proceeds go toward rescue expenses for the Paws Rescue animal shelter. Donations of dog and cat food are also welcome.

MSU golf tournament

The 28th annual Paul Geer Memorial Bulldog Classic Scholarship Golf Tournament is set for May 16 at the Vicksburg Country Club. Registration begins at noon, and the tournament at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $95 per player or $380 for a four-person team, and single players are welcome. Proceeds benefit the Warren County Chapter of the Mississippi State Alumni Association’s scholarship fund.

Learn to swim class

Vicksburg City Pool will hold registration for the American Red Cross’ Learn to Swim program, May 16-18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, and from 10 a.m. to noon on May 19. All registration must be done in person at City Pool and is on a first come, first served basis.

The classes provide low-cost swim lessons to children and adults of all ages. Children must be at least 3 years old to participate. The cost is $15 per student for each 10-day session.

The sessions will run from June 4-15, June 25 to July 6, and July 16-27, with class times scheduled throughout the day depending on swimmers’ ages. Each class is 45 minutes long.

Fuzzy Johnson Baseball

Registration is now open for the Fuzzy Johnson Baseball League’s 2018 season. The league is for children ages 9-15, and games are played at Fuzzy Johnson Park on Mission 66.

USM basketball camp

Southern Miss will host a youth basketball camp May 30 through June 1 at Reed Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg. The camp is for boys and girls ages 4-11, and will run from 8 a.m. to noon each day. The camp is geared toward developing a love for the game in primary and elementary school players by providing basketball activities with social interaction. The cost is $50 per player, and $25 if they bring a second person.
