Larry Nelson Montpelier Sr. died Sunday, May 20, 2018, at his residence in Vicksburg. He was 73.

A native of Jonesville, La., he had made his home in Vicksburg since 1975, where he retired in the maintenance department at the International Paper Co. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Vicksburg.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Newt and Loberta Chapman Montpelier; his sisters, Sherron Harris and Lou Parish; and his brother, Gerald Montpelier.

Survivors include his three sons, Larry (Robin) Montpelier of Florence, Todd Montpelier and Chris Montpelier, both of Vicksburg; his sister, Glendon White of Gulfport; his brother, Hinson Montpelier of Jonesville, La.; and three grandchildren, Rylee Montpelier, Zack Montpelier and Blake Montpelier.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at the Chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Dathan Tipton officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m. at the Heard Cemetery in Manifest, La.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joel Ashley, Terry West, Israel West, David Stokes, Ronnie Jones and Mike McCune.
