Man arrested in connection with May 20 shooting

A Vicksburg man was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond on charges related to the May shooting of another man.
Vicksburg police Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said Oscar Lee Anderson Jr., 25, 2705 Drummond St., is charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of weapon by a convicted felon in the shooting of Steven Dale Lahatte, 53.
Police officers responding to a 911 call about 2:20 a.m. May 20 involving shots fired in the 1100 block of Bowmar Avenue arrived to find Lahatte on the ground in front of a building in the 2700 block of Drummond Street at the corner of Drummond and Bowmar with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to Merit Health River Region and later flown to University of Mississippi Medical Center.
The case remains under investigation, Edwards said.
In other cases:
• Shots were reported fired about 8:08 p.m. Thursday in the area of Anse Street.
• An iPhone 7 and LifeProof case were reported taken from a car parked in the 100 block of Alfred Drive.
Police made the following arrests Thursday:
• Leon Devell Rodgers, 46, 2508 Ken Karyl Ave., was arrested about 9:20 a.m. in the 2500 block of Ken Karyl Avenue on a charge of domestic assault.
• Cadrius Kentrell Baker, 20, 428 Lehman Ave., Fayette, was arrested about 12:51 p.m. at Halls Ferry Road and Lane Street on a warrant from another jurisdiction.
• Steven Paul Carter, 23, 428 Lehman Ave., Fayette, was served with a warrant at Halls Ferry Road and Lane Street.
• A warrant was served on Heather Gay Phelps, 47, 812 Speed St.
Police responded to the following calls Thursday:
• 10:25 a.m., 4100 block of 1-20 Frontage Road, malicious mischief.
• 3:59 p.m., 900 block of Washington Street, malicious mischief.
