Reader: Not being from Vicksburg excludes opinion

To the editor:

A writer for the Vicksburg Post stated in his editorial that there are groups of Facebook people complaining about what is wrong with the city but have “no ideas about how to solve what they are complaining about or any willingness to play a role in improving the city or county.” How would he know this? He says he’s not from Vicksburg. This would automatically exclude him from having an opinion.

For his information, I hold a masters degree in Urban Affairs and Policy Analysis. When I applied I was told “we can run this city with an eight grade education.” The person who told me this is now the mayor. I guess he was right!!!

I even asked to volunteer and was denied and they want to know why people are complaining. Injustice is one of the questions Vicksburg should include in its survey!!

That writer should work on his arrogance. To assume that people can’t articulate what they want or need is arrogant.
