Red Carpet Bowl tickets

Tickets for the 2018 Red Carpet Bowl are now on sale at Michel’s Music Downtown, River Outfitters/ River Belles, 601 Sports and the Vicksburg Warren School District athletic office and local schools.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate, and are good for both games of the annual football doubleheader.

This year’s Red Carpet Bowl will be played Aug. 17 at Vicksburg High’s Memorial Stadium. Warren Central faces Oxford in the opener at 5:30 p.m., and Vicksburg plays Clarksdale at 8.

Fall baseball registration

Registration for the City of Vicksburg’s fall youth baseball league will continue through Sept. 12 at the Parks and Recreation office on Army Navy Drive. The league is for children ages 5-12, and the registration fee is $25 per child.

Adult softball registration

Registration for the City of Vicksburg’s adult co-ed fall softball league will continue through Sept. 13 at the Parks and Recreation office on Army Navy Drive. The league is for men and women, and the registration fee is $175 per team plus an additional $10 for each Warren County resident and $20 for residents of Sharkey, Issaquena and Claiborne counties.

There will be a mandatory coaches meeting on Sept. 5 at the Parks and Recreation office.

Flag football registration

Registration for the Vicksburg Warren Flag Football League’s 2018 season is now open and will continue until Aug. 25. The season will begin Sept. 1. Other registration periods will be held Aug. 18 and 25 at the Vicksburg Junior High football field, from 5-6 p.m. For more information, call James Judge at 601-415-4500.

VSO soccer registration

Registration for the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s fall season will continue until Aug. 19. The league is for children ages 4-16, and the season runs from early September through late October.

Registration fees are $60 per child in the U4 and U6 age divisions; $80 for the U8 division; $85 for U10; and $90 for U12 and above. There is also a $33 fee for uniforms.

Hinds softball fall league

Hinds Community College will host its second annual Fall Softball League beginning Oct. 22 and continuing through Nov. 16. The league is for players in grades 8-12, and the cost is $120 per player.

The league will begin with a talent evaluation showcase on Oct. 22. Games will be played Oct. 29 to Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. each Monday and Thursday.
