Teen dies in fatal wreck

An 18-year-old Louisiana man was killed late Monday morning when his car left the road, overturned and landed upside down on Oak Ridge Road near Henry Road.

Devin Joel Carter of Vidalia, Louisiana, was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey.

The wreck occurred about 11:15 a.m. According to Warren County Sheriff’s Office reports, the man’s northbound 2014 Ford Focus went off the right side of Oak Ridge Road, struck a tree, overturned three times and landed on its top. The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. First responders arriving at the scene found him lying in the middle of the road.

Excessive speed and weather conditions are believed to have played a part in the wreck.
