“This is our 13th year, said Dorothy Brasfield, representative of the Four Seasons of the Arts and director of the Church of the Holy Trinity Conservatory of Fine Arts.

“We began the program in 2006, and we will have the same featured artist who performed at our first program.”

Featured artist violinist Stephen Redfield is a member of the University of Southern Mississippi School of Music faculty, where he performs with the Mississippi Chamber Circle and Baroque duo HauptMusik. He will perform Mozart’s “Violin Concerto No. 4, K. 218” and “Adagio in E, K. 261” during the concert.

Other works to be performed include Mozart’s “Divertimento in F Major, K. 138,” and “Symphony No. 41 in C Major, K. 551 ‘Jupiter,’” one of three symphonies composed by Mozart in 1788 at age 32. The symphonies were the last he ever composed.

The largest professional performing arts organization in the state, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra performs for more than 75,000 Mississippians each year at more than 120 concerts statewide.

Its first concert was an invitation-only event performed Oct. 19, 1944, at the Hotel Heidelberg in Jackson and was attended by 500 people.
