Shooting suspects now behind bars

Two men wanted in the Dec. 21 shooting of another man in his home are being held in the Warren County Jail after their arrests Thursday.
Sheriff Martin Pace said Ashton Waters and Joshua Thomas are each charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the incident.
He said Thomas, 24, was arrested Thursday morning by Brookhaven Police and transferred to Warren County. Waters on Thursday afternoon turned himself in to sheriff’s investigators at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Thompson is being held in the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bond. Waters is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.
According to sheriff’s department reports, deputies received a call about 1 p.m. on Dec. 21 that a man had been shot inside his home in the 7800 block of Halls Ferry Road, and the victim was able to positively identify the suspects. He is currently recovering from his wounds.
Pace said the case will be presented to the next Warren County grand jury, which meets Jan. 28. He declined to comment further on the case citing the ongoing investigation.
