Road work starts Monday on Halls Ferry; will reduce traffic to one lane

Traffic on Halls Ferry Road by Nicholas Street will be reduced to one lane from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to allow city street department workers to resurface a section of the street where a 6-inch waterline was repaired.

The line was repaired Jan. 15 and covered with sand and gravel. Public works director Garnet Van Norman said the sand and gravel will be removed and replaced with cement.

He said the city will have flagmen at the site to direct traffic.
