Darrell “Spanky” Rushing

Darrell “Spanky” Rushing passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019. He was 56.

Spanky was born in Yazoo City, but lived in Vicksburg for the majority of his life, nearly 50 years. Darrell and his loving wife were married for 28 years and lived their married life in Vicksburg. He was a kind hearted, lovable and humorous man who never failed to put smiles on the faces of those he was around. Darrell was an avid hunter and fisherman and mud rider.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Rushing; his parents, Mary Quarles and Roy Quarles; his son, Justin Rushing (Skylar Blades); his brother, Tim Rushing and his sister-in-law, Sirleide Rushing; his sister, Amy Hardin and his brother-in-law, Robert Hardin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and one great-nephew.

A visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at noon, until the hour of service. Funeral service will be held in the Glenwood Chapel at 3 pm. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Mark Gugert, Kasey Gilliland, James Shoops, Charles Wilson, J.L. Moody, Wesley Jones, Tommy Hoben and Lee Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Evans, Randy Martin-nez, Dr. Calvin Masterson, and all former employees of Letourneau Inc.

Bruce Bryant and Jackie Banes will be officiating the service.
