The complaint department at the Robert M. Walker Annex on Walnut Street will be open Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Mayor George Flaggs Jr. said at the start of Wednesday’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting he will be in the Annex’s boardroom from 5:30 to 6:30 to take complaints about the city from residents.

He said people will have to come to the annex in person to deliver their complaints.

“I’m only going to listen to the people tomorrow who have complaints,” he said. “That’s unique. So if you’ve got s complaint against Vicksburg or about me, I’ll be right here. From complaints, I think we can build opportunity.

“So if you’re dissatisfied about something in Vicksburg, come to the mike tomorrow, tell me your name, where you stay and give me your complaint, and I’ll be able to address you one-on-one and at the same time at least bring you up to date, because there is a lot of misinformation out there, particularly around recreation.”

If anyone has good news about Vicksburg, Flaggs said, “Stay away. I just want the persons who have complaints.”
