Suspect tied to Whataburger shooting indicted

A Vicksburg man has been indicted for aggravated assault involving an October shooting at Whataburger, 3402 Halls Ferry Road.

Michael Anthony Lynn, 29, 1056 Jeff Davis Road, is charged with aggravated assault-extreme indifference in the shooting, which resulted from an argument in the restaurant parking lot. Lynn is accused of shooting John Caleb Wallace.

According to police reports, Lynn was arguing with a woman in the Whataburger parking lot when Wallace intervened to calm the situation. Lynn then went to a vehicle, got a 9mm handgun and shot Wallace in the arm with the bullet going through the arm and lodging in the body.

Lynn later turned himself in to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, who took him to the Vicksburg Police Department.

In another case, Trameka Shaneal Coney, 33, 30 Kings Drive, was indicted on a charge of aggravated assault. She is accused of shooting another woman in the hip during a disturbance.

Other indictments include:

4 Keonda Bailey, 21, 2914 Drummond St.; two counts of aggravated assault involving the stabbing of two women.

4 Jeffrey Kyle McGuffie, 31, 1007 Polk St., shooting into a dwelling-house, and two counts of attempted aggravated assault-extreme indifference.

He is accused of firing several shots into a home in the 1000 block of Avenue D about 2:56 a.m. Jan. 17 and leaving the area. No one in the home was injured and police recovered a 9mm handgun.

4 William Dewitt Smith, 66, 100 Chance Lane; shooting into a dwelling-house.

4 Brittany Baker, 32, 1360 Dudley Road; simple assault on a police officer.

4 Chasty Danielle Moore, 28, 1245 Mount Alban Road Lot 6; escape-concealing prisoner. She is accused of hiding an inmate who escaped from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

4 Ladeidra Patrick, 39, 900 South 4th St., Monroe, Louisiana; gaming-past post betting. She is accused of placing a bet on a game at Ameristar Casino after learning the outcome of the game.

4 Felicia Brown, 43,254 Mount Leopard Road, Flora; gaming-past post betting. She is accused of placing a bet on a game at the Riverwalk Casino after learning the outcome of the game.

4 Brandon Lacey Telford, 28, 15 Carroll Place; felony shoplifting in the reported theft of 35 Polo shirts from Dillards.

4 Steven Dewayne Lyons, 26, 1060 Griff Circle, Port Gibson; vehicle burglary.

4 Damon Pierce Henderson, 28, 4602 Lee Road; larceny motor vehicle.

4 Trayvon Quitez Barnett, 18, 55 Whipperwill Road; Alton Andre Burden, 38, 805 Second North St.; Jaquan Burden, 902 Blossom Lane F-10; and Derrick Darden, 19, 80 Smallwood Road; conspiracy to commit a felony and non-residential burglary.

Alton Andre Burden was indicted as a habitual offender because he had two prior felonies.

4 Patrick Chad Caples, 37, 448 Boy Scout Road; receiving stolen property. He was indicted as a habitual offender.

4 Justin Heath Allen, 22, 1772 Paul Barrett Road, and Courtney Anderson, 38, 1415 Main St.; possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.

4 Jonathainal Truitt, 60, 2811 Drummond St.; possession of a controlled substance-cocaine.

4 Gwendolyn Ray, 3955 Clay St. No. 118; sale of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.

4 Charles Weaver, 60, 765 Hankinson Road, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.

4 Eric Ferguson, 30, 25 Warrenton Place, sale of a controlled substance–cocaine.
