Funeral services for Simon Amos will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at St. Paul M. B. Church with the Rev. Robert L. Miller Sr. officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation is Saturday at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m.

Mr. Amos passed away Sunday, April 7, at Baptist Hospital following a lengthy illness.  He was 77.

He was a self employed painter and member of the Elks lodge and Mount Hebron M. B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Roberta Brickley Amos; his wife, Annie Marie Bass-Amos; his brothers James Amos, Bernard Amos, Abraham Amos and Aubrey Amos; his sisters Henrietta Amos Pilate, Geneva Amos Jackson, Lucille Amos Brown and Berda Catherine Amos.

He is survived by his son, Robert Bass of Vicksburg; his daughter, Ruby Mercadal of New Orleans, Louisiana; and his sister Mary Lee Amos-Robbins of Vicksburg.
