“Applications are available from the human resources office at 1415 Walnut St. (the Robert M. Walker annex),” she said. “Students can also get them from their high school guidance office at the four area high schools, or they can be downloaded from the Vicksburg homepage at www.vicksburg.org.”

The applications must be returned to the human resources office by 5 p.m. May 10, or if they are mailed, must be postmarked by May 10.

“We do have a few important requirements,” Smith said, “The eligible applicants must not have been previously employed by the city of Vicksburg, they must attach the most recent, certified and signed transcript in a sealed envelop when turning in you application.”

Applicants must have a 2.5 grade point average, be a resident of the city or Warren County, go through an interview process, pass a drug screen and background check and have reliable transportation.

The mayor’s office is the city contact for the program and can be reached at 601-801-3566 for more information.
