Wet weather shuffles softball, baseball playoff schedules for Warren Central

Wet fields and lingering rain around Mississippi have shuffled the schedule for Warren Central’s baseball and softball playoff series this weekend.

Warren Central’s baseball team moved Game 1 of its first-round series against Tupelo back a few hours, from 2 to 6 p.m., because of wet conditions at Viking Field.
Game 2 of that best-of-three series is still set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Tupelo, and Game 3 is Monday at 2 p.m. at Warren Central if it’s needed.

Warren Central’s softball team, meanwhile, radically altered its schedule for the first-round series against Oxford.

Friday’s Game 1 at Oxford was postponed, and will now be played Saturday at 2 p.m. at Warren Central.

Games 2 and 3 will be played as a doubleheader at Oxford on Monday beginning at 2 p.m.

Vicksburg High will begin its baseball and playoff series at Saltillo on Saturday. The baseball team plays Game 1 at 2 p.m., while the softball team will play the first two games of its series as a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
