Man found shot on Oak Street

Vicksburg police are seeking information about a Friday afternoon shooting in which a man was wounded.

Deputy Vicksburg Police Chief Bobby Stewart said police were called about 4:31 p.m. about a man who had been shot in the 2700 block of Oak Street. Officers arrived to find the man at a house with a single gunshot wound.

Stewart said the man, who was not identified, was already wounded when he walked up to the house on Oak Street and the residents called police.

“We are still investigating,” he said. “We don’t where the shooting took place.”
