The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America rolled through Vicksburg on Thursday, after making a fuel stop at the Love’s Travel Stop in Tallulah. More than 200 riders are traveling from Seattle to Key Largo, Florida, to raise money for Petty’s Victory Junction Camp for children with chronic and life threatening illnesses.
This is the 25th edition of the ride, and the 15th year it has benefited Victory Junction. Last year’s Ride raised more than $1 million for the camp.
Thursday’s stretch went from Shreveport to Pensacola, Florida, and passed through Tallulah, Vicksburg and much of Mississippi along the way. At the fuel stop, fans had the chance to meet former NASCAR drivers Richard and Kyle Petty, Harry Gant, David Ragan and Max Papis, and former NFL stars Herschel Walker and George Rogers.
