City tennis program
The City of Vicksburg’s summer tennis program will begin June 5 at Halls Ferry Park and continue through the end of July. The daily camp is held Monday through Friday, from 8 to 10 a.m., for children ages 5-18.

A junior team tennis camp will also be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week, from 10 a.m. to noon.

VSA Summer Team
Registration is open for the Vicksburg Swim Association’s Summer Swim Team. The program is for children ages 5 to 18, and is a structured program for swimmers looking to move beyond basic lessons.

The cost is $200 for the first swimmer, and $85 for additional family members. The cost includes a USA Swimming seasonal registration, and the program runs from June 3 to July 29. Sessions are held weekdays from 6 to 8 a.m. All swimmers must be able to swim 50 meters without stopping, and must have a swimsuit and goggles. A one-piece swimsuit is preferred for girls.

Hinds basketball camps
The Hinds Community College men’s basketball program will host two youth camps in June.
The Hinds CC Youth Camp will take place on June 12 in J.D. Boyd Gymnasium on the Utica campus, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 5-13. There is a $30 registration fee and lunch will be provided.

The Hinds CC Team Camp will take place on June 19 on the Utica campus. Teams will play 2-3 games per session. The cost of this camp is $200 per team. Officials and training staff will be on site and lunch will be provided.

AJGT golf tournament
The Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour will host the AJGT Waste Management Junior Classic June 25-26 at Carter Plantation Golf Club in Springfield, La. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is open to golfers ages 11-18. The entry fee is $195.

Football camp at MC
Mississippi College will host a USA Football FUNdamentals clinic for children ages 6-14 on June 8. The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and is free.

The one-day clinic is designed to introduce children to football by teaching basic skills in a fun and energetic environment, and is supported through a grant from the NFL Foundation. All drills are non-contact.
