Multiple units with the Vicksburg Fire Department responded to a house fir on Franklin Street Wednesday afternoon.

The call came in around 2 p.m. involving a fire, with flames showing, at 2507 Franklin Street.

Deputy Fire Chief Derrick Stamps said the fire began under the porch and ignited items in a cooler on the porch. The fire then spread up the side of the house and into the attic. No one was at home at the time of the fire.
