Star Spangled Night Run
The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation will host the Star Spangled Night Run, a 5K run and race walk in downtown Vicksburg, on Saturday, June 29.

The race will begin at 8 p.m. at the Southern Culutral Heritage Foundation at 1302 Adams St. The SCHF will also host an after party in its courtyard with live music and food.

The entry fee for the race is $35 for adults, 20 for children, and $120 for corporate or civic club teams of 3-5 members. City tennis program
The City of Vicksburg’s summer tennis program will Halls Ferry Park and continue through the end of July at Halls Ferry Park. The daily camp is held Monday through Friday, from 8 to 10 a.m., for children ages 5-18.

A junior team tennis camp will also be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Hinds basketball camps
The Hinds Community College men’s basketball program will host the Hinds CC Team Camp on June 19 on the Utica campus. This is an elite event that will feature teams from all over Mississippi. Teams will play 2-3 games per session.

The cost of this camp is $200 per team. All players must bring proof of a current physical with them.

AJGT golf tournament
The Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour will host the AJGT Waste Management Junior Classic June 25-26 at Carter Plantation Golf Club in Springfield, La. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is open to golfers ages 11-18. The entry fee is $195.

USM basketball camp
The Joye Lee-McNelis summer youth basketball camps will be held in June at Southern Miss’ Reed Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg.

There are different camps for different ages and skill levels, and many are open to both girls and boys.

The options include the Developmental Skills Academy for girls ages 12 and up, June 17-18; Post Skills Enhancement Academy for rising ninth graders and up on June 21; Next Level Skills Academy I and II for high school junior varsity, varsity and club players on June 22-23; and the Middle School Team Shootout for junior high, middle school and club teams on June 20.
