The case of a Vicksburg man charged with domestic violence assault and first-degree arson in a May 5 incident is expected to go before the August term of the Warren County grand jury, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Antonio Trenell Myles, 34, is accused of beating a woman during an argument and then setting her home on fire. The woman was taken to Merit Health River Region where she was treated and released.

Pace said Myles was on earned early release from the Mississippi Department of Corrections after serving almost nine years of a 20-year sentence for manslaughter committed in Hinds County. He was picked up June 13 by MDOC officers and returned to prison.

He is presently at the state’s Central Mississippi Corrections Facility in Pearl, according to information on MDOC’s website. The sheriff said he will be returned to Warren County for the grand jury.

According to sheriff’s department reports, deputies were called about 11:50 p.m. May 5 about a domestic dispute. When deputies arrived, they met a woman who said she had been assaulted by a man.

The deputies went to the woman’s home and arrived to find the house on fire and Myles standing in the front yard. They arrested him on the assault and arson charges.

No bond was set for Myles because of the MDOC hold placed on him.
