John Robert Thomas died Tuesday, July 9, 2019.  He was 57.

Born in Ohio, Mr. Thomas had been a resident of Vicksburg since childhood.  He was the son of the late Gene Thomas Sr. and Joan Webb Thomas, and a graduate of Vicksburg High School.  He was a retired welding inspector. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lavonne Prince.

He is survived by two daughters, Marianne Hynum (Timmy) and Christina Cotter, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Roy Thomas (Karen) of Vicksburg and Gene Thomas, Jr. of Arkansas; a sister, Angel Frauenthal (Ken) of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother-in-law, Danny Prince of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Jacob Hynum and Chance Abernathy; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Services will be noon Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Danny Prince, Matthew Prince, Ken Frauenthal, Jermiah Jamison, Bob Harding, and Roger Dixon.
