Street collapse wrecks car

Published 2:24 pm Thursday, July 18, 2019

A Vicksburg woman received minor injuries Thursday when a section of pavement collapsed under her car at the intersection of Mundy and Farmer streets, pulling in the car’s front end.

The wreck occurred about 12:51 p.m.

Vicksburg police officer Judson Maglorie said Joann Roberts was preparing to turn right on Mundy Street when the pavement at the intersection collapsed. City officials believe the cause of the collapse may have been an underground leak from an 8-inch waterline.
