Noon Saturday is the deadline to vote absentee ahead of Tuesday’s party primaries.

“So far, we have had 395 people vote absentee,” Circuit Clerk Jan Daigre said Thursday afternoon. “I expect we’ll have 500 total; it’s been steady. All voters living in the flooded areas will be allowed to vote absentee.”

The circuit clerk’s office will be open Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, allowing residents to cast an absentee ballot.

As for Tuesday’s primaries, all of the county’s 23 precincts will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. But, there is one change in the list of precincts.

Because of flooding in the Eagle Lake community, the Warren County Board of Supervisors approved temporarily relocating of the Brunswick voting district from the Eagle Lake Volunteer Fire Department to Redwood United Methodist Church, 101 Redwood Road, across from Redwood School.

In addition to statewide party primaries, the ballots will feature three contested races for Warren County Supervisor.

On the Democratic ballot, incumbent Charles Selmon is being challenged by James E. Stirgus Jr. and Shawn Jackson for the Democratic nomination for District 3 supervisor, with independent candidate David Sharp taking on the winner in November. If necessary, a runoff will be held Aug. 27.

Edward Herring and Bill Jeffers face off in the Republican primary for District 1, with the winner facing incumbent John Arnold, who is running as an independent.

In the Republican primary for District 4 supervisor, incumbent John Carlisle faces Marty Crevitt in a rematch of the 2015 primary. The winner faces Jeffery Holland in November.

Those voting Tuesday will need to present a photo ID and declare which party’s primary ballot they would like to vote.
