Glenda Rivers

Glenda Rivers died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at Promise Hospital in Vicksburg. She was 72.

She was a native of Rolling Fork, where she was a graduate of Anguilla High School and later was employed by the Bank of Anguilla for a number of years.

Glenda and Ernest had been making their home in Vicksburg since 1981, where she was formerly employed at the First National Bank and also was owner and operator of Wallpaper Hangers. She was a member of Crossway Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Vela Walker Lassett.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest of Vicksburg; her 2 daughters, Patty Guthrie of Covington, La. and Kathy (Jody) Wooten of Vicksburg; her 2 sisters, Bet Howard and Kate Burleson both of Clarksdale; her brother, Alton (Brenda) Lassett of Indianola, Miss. and her 5 grandchildren, Shelby Guthrie, Hayden Guthrie, Dillon Wooten, Sydney Wooten and Bella Grace Wooten.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2019, in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Terry White officiating.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the service.

Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Allen Knight, Tommy Parkerson, Brian Odom, Scott Hill, Justin Hopton and Hunter Hill.
