Construction to slow traffic on Clay St.

Published 11:04 am Tuesday, August 20, 2019

Clay Street in front of the site of the old Pizza Hut building will be down to one lane Tuesday and Wednesday while city workers replace a manhole and install a water tap for the new Popeye’s restaurant being built on the property. The old Pizza hut building was demolished Aug. 13 and 14 to make way for the new Popeye’s, which will be the city’s second. The manhole cover replaces an existing manhole that was made of brick.
