Although it is still quite warm outside, fall will eventually arrive, and when it does, so will the fall Vicksburg Farmer’s Market.

The fall market will return to Washington Street Park on the second and third Saturdays in September and October. The market will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. each Saturday.

“We are really excited about the fall market,” farmer market manager Rebecca Tarver said. “It has been a couple of years since we have had one this time of year.”

The spring market drew crowds from between 300 and 400, with 15-to-17 vendors selling their wares.

Organizers hope the fall market will be just as successful.

“A few vendors have already committed, but we always welcome more,” Tarver said.

Currently, Tarver said, there are two produce vendors committed and a few craft vendors.

“Honestly Beef will also be coming on the third Saturday of the month,” she said.

Honestly Beef, which sells a variety of steaks, ground beef, sausage and dog treats, was among the many spring vendors.

Tarver hopes more craft vendors will sign up to participate, as well as vendors with baked and canned goods.

“We love homemade,” she said.

The streets around the fall farmer’s market will be blocked off so shoppers can enjoy browsing from vendor to vendor.

There will be handicap parking inside the parameters of the market.

The vendor fee for the market is $15.

“Since this is shorter than the spring market, there will be no seasonal fee,” Tarver said.
