Nancy Aden Wansley

Nancy Aden Wansley, 64, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, in Vicksburg surrounded by family.

Services will be at Glenwood Funeral Home Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until hour of the service. Burial will follow at Valley Park Baptist Cemetery.

Nancy was born in Vicksburg and grew up in Valley Park. Nancy attended Rolling Fork High School, Sharkey-Issaquena Academy, and Mississippi State.

Nancy followed her dream of marrying a farmer and her high school sweetheart, David.

Nancy enjoyed traveling, grandchildren, and was an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Louis McPherson Aden; her brother, Louis “Mac” Aden; and her twin sister, Lynn Aden Jarshaw.

Nancy is survived by her mother, Jane Aden Wade of Vicksburg; her husband of 43 years, David Wansley of Vicksburg; her sons, Steen Wansley (Anna) of Madison and Aden Wansley (Cari) of Vicksburg; her grandchildren, Rivers, Will, Mason, Bryleigh, and Louis; her brother, Merritt Aden (Debi) and nephew Jared, all of Vicksburg; her sister-in-law, Tommie Bays (Eddie) of Brandon; and niece Andrea Bays of Dallas, Texas; her sister-in-law Fran Braxton of Pensacola, Fla.; brother-in-law Darryl Braxton, and nephews Preston and Tyler Braxton, all of Sulphur Springs, Texas; her brother-in-law, Martin Jarshaw and nieces Jane, Christen and Catherine, all of Edmond, Okla.

The family would like to thank the caring people at Vicksburg Convalescent Home and Encompass Home Health and Hospice, as well as Phelshia Coffie and Ms. Eva. Special appreciation to Dr. John Barnes and Jennifer Newton.

Nancy had many friends including a very close lifelong friend, Francis Dalfume Prochaska (Mark) of Brentwood, Calif., and her mentor, Ken Hicks.

Pallbearers will be Aden Wansley, Steen Wansley, Jared Aden, Eddie Bays, Bill Field, Scooter Madison, Bill McRight, Tyler Braxton, and Preston Braxton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her beloved friends at May and Co., Woodlawn Baptist Church, and in Valley Park. In lieu of flowers the family request a donation to your favorite charity.
