Man walking on South Street robbed at gunpoint

A man told Vicksburg Police he was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night by three men who took $1,200.

According to police reports, the man said he was walking in the 1100 block of South Street about 9:28 p.m. Tuesday when a gray van pulled up and three men got out, pointed a pistol at him and forced him to ground, taking the money after a brief struggle.

The case remains under investigation.

In other cases:

• A house in the 300 block of Meadowvale Drive was struck eight times by bullets, sometime Tuesday night.

According to police reports, the owner of the house reported the damage about 3:01 a.m. Wednesday. No one was home at the time of the shooting. The man told officers he had been out of town and saw the damage when he returned home. Officers found 21 .40-caliber and six 9mm bullet casings in the street.

The shooting is under investigation.

• A 2009 Honda was reported taken from the parking lot of the Five Star Food and Fuel, 1108 Bowmar Ave. The car’s owner told police he left the car with the engine running and went in the store. While he was in the store, he said, he saw a man get in the car and drive off.
