Just days after a Warren County grand jury handed down an indictment on a December 2018 murder, the Vicksburg Police Department issued a release asking the community’s help in solving three other unsolved murders.

The police department in conjunction with Crime Stoppers has offered rewards up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

One of the cold cases highlighted by the department, is the October 2018 murder of Antonio Maurice Henderson.

Henderson, 36, was killed at the East View Apartments, 1900 Baldwin Ferry Road, on Oct. 29, 2017.

Officers responding about 12:04 a.m. to a call of shots fired at the East View Apartments arrived to find Henderson on the ground in front of building 14 with multiple gunshot wounds. Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey pronounced him dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police they heard an argument and then shots were fired. They said a dark colored vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed after the shooting.

Another case involves the May 2018 shooting death of Cortez Denzel Hardy.

On Sunday, May 6, 2018, about 4:20 a.m., officers responded to a call on the 1300 block of South Street, where they found Hardy, 21, inside a home. He had been shot multiple times.

Hardy was transported to River Region. He died that afternoon.

At the time, officials with the Vicksburg Police Department believed there may have been two shooters involved. Police in April arrested Conti Lashun Tillis, 26, on a charge of murder in connection with the death.

His bond was set at $1 million by Municipal Judge Penny Lawson, and he has since been transferred to the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, Warren County Jail records show.

The third cold case investigators continue to work involves the August 2018 death of Jasmine Adams.

Police responded to a call from Adams’ home at 314 Lake Hill Drive about 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22 for a possible home invasion.

Officers found Adams lying by the back door in a room adjacent to the carport of the home with an apparent single gunshot would to the head.

In a story later published by The Post, witnesses told authorities, Adams, her boyfriend and another person were in the home when someone reportedly knocked on the carport door claiming to be the police. Adams’ boyfriend ran down the hall to another room and Adams went to answer the door.

The person on the other side of the door kicked the door twice, kicking it in on the second try. As soon as the door opened, the person opened fire, with one bullet hitting Adams. Nobody entered the house from outside.
