In an effort to help residents cleaning up from the recent historic floods, the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality has scheduled a household hazardous waste collection day for Saturday.

For residents who suffered from the months-long flood in Warren County, the state will receive hazardous household items, such as paints, pool chemicals, household cleaning items and more from 8 a.m. until noon at the Eagle Lake boat landing, 14079 Highway 465.

In a release from MDEQ, the department is “working with local officials in Warren County … to collect household hazardous wastes, certain electronic wastes and bulky household appliances and white goods generated or damaged as a result of the impacts from the Mississippi River flooding in 2019.”
