The Beverly Carol, a ‘Vicksburg Eclectic Victorian’

Published 8:55 am Monday, September 9, 2019

Angela Jenkins has been in real estate most of her life. Her family has been in Vicksburg since the 1800’s.

Angela and her husband Robert fell in love with the idea of renovating and restoring homes and began “flipping homes” and also investing in many properties.

Angela has an artist’s eye, being creative with do-it-yourself projects. She finds random items from all over, and envisions how to repurpose them.

Angela loves it all, from sanding wood floors, painting pictures and having the vision to create unique décor for renovating and restoring homes.

They purchased the home at 1219 Adams St. in the historic district, just walking distance to downtown Vicksburg. They restored it and created The Beverly Carol Bed and Breakfast. Why Beverly Carol? This is Angela’s mother’s name.

Angela and Robert decided to go with Airbnb’s because they saw how popular they are.

“Vicksburg economic development growth [mentioning Sports Force Complex, ERDC and contractors looking for places to live within their income level]. This works because I noticed a shortage of homes in Vicksburg.” She also added they have two additional Airbnb’s in the city of Vicksburg. You can visit stayinvicksburg.com to reserve and view.

I asked why “Vicksburg’s Debut of Eclectic Victorian” was on their flyer and its meaning.

“It has a feel of a Victorian home from the outside, including three porches to relax on to enjoy the Victorian vibe,” Angela said. “Then you walk inside to different styles with touches of contemporary, industrial, traditional, French Country and coastal vibes and décor.”

The Beverly Carol, to Angela’s knowledge is the only B&B that sleeps 18 people. The home features amenities such as a game room, library, free Wi-Fi, streaming television and movies.

Another great aspect of The Beverly Carol is that you can reserve for a private event such as corporate meetings, family reunions, baby showers, wine and cheese parties, etc. They provide breakfast items to guests and refreshments for events planners for them to prepare.

Another beautiful feature, if you like something in The Beverly Carol, such as a decorative wall piece and décor, it is for sale. Just ask Angela.

By the end of the year, Angela’s hope is to have her website up for anyone to purchase items online.

Touring The Beverly Carol is a joy. It is immaculately clean, unique, something for everyone to enjoy. Some of her creations are absolutely beautiful, eye catching, made me want to buy some items for my own home.

Angela is a lovely woman and Robert is a very nice man. It was my pleasure meeting with them both.

Angela said they are planning a ribbon cutting and grand opening later in the fall.

Stay tuned for the announcement.
