Mary Evelyn Hossley, Logan Hardin and Bri Daughtry had two hits apiece, Kayleigh Karel drove in two runs, and Warren Central beat Raymond 9-5 in a slow-pitch softball game on Tuesday.

Warren Central (5-9-1) collected five hits and scored six runs in the top of the first inning, and cruised to the win in its Class II, Region 6 opener.

Hossley, Kaylee Hoeft, Hardin, Daughtry and Karel — the first five batters in Warren Central’s order — had eight of the team’s 12 hits, drove in four runs and scored six. Hardin hit an inside-the-park home run leading off the second inning.

Vicksburg 15, Clinton 0
Charli VanNorman went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Vicksburg High (11-3, 1-0 Class II, Region 6) crushed Clinton in its slow-pitch region opener on Tuesday.

Trinity McGloster and Makiya Adams also had two hits apiece for the Missy Gators, who will host Raymond Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Sports Force Parks on the Mississippi.

Central Hinds 17, St. Aloysius 7
Karson Lowery went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a triple, two RBIs and four runs scored as Central Hinds beat St. Aloysius in a fast-pitch game Tuesday.

Lowery doubled and scored during a five-run second inning that gave Central Hinds a 7-0 lead. The Cougars added two more runs in the third inning and eight in the fifth to win via the run rule.

Abby Clark was 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Central Hinds.

St. Al (1-16-1) lost its third game in two days — it was swept in a doubleheader against Hartfield Academy on Monday — but did not go down without a fight. The Lady Flashes scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and finished with nine hits.

Katlyn Donovan went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for St. Al, while Madison Waters was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored. Maddy McSherry also had two hits, one RBI, and scored two runs.

PCA 12, Benton Academy 0
Hannah Embry pitched a four-inning perfect game — Porter’s Chapel Academy’s third no-hitter in a row and fifth in six games — as it beat Benton Academy on Tuesday. Embry struck out 10 of the 12 batters she faced and only threw 49 pitches.

Embry also went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs at the plate. Carlyle Smith was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Jenn Smith went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored for PCA (13-8).
