City, police department reschedule public safety town hall

The Vicksburg Police Department will host a town hall Thursday, Oct. 10 to discuss public safety in the city.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Robert M. Walker Building boardroom, 1415 Walnut St.

A panel of law enforcement leaders to include Chief of Police Milton Moore, Deputy Chief Robert Stewart, Deputy Chief Eric Paymon, Captain Penny Jones and Lieutenant Johnnie Edwards will be present to answer questions.

The Vicksburg Police Department’s Public Information Officer, Cpt. Michael Bryant will moderate the meeting.

All questions for the panel must be in written format and presented to Bryant prior to the meeting. Questions may be emailed to Bryant at mikeb@vicksburg.org or mailed to Vicksburg Police Department, 820 Veto Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180.

Questions should be limited to concerns regarding public safety matters within the city. Questions about current open cases or on-going investigations will not be presented to the panel.

This town hall meeting will not be televised live, and video and audio recording or live streaming by members of the audience will not be allowed.
