Monday is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 5 general election.

“People will have until 5 p.m. Monday to register,” said Sarah Dionne, Warren County Election Commissioner. “People can come in to register or they can do it by mail. If they register by mail, it must be postmarked on Monday. People can download a voter registration form from the county’s website of the Secretary of State’s website.”

She said people who have moved into Warren County from another county in Mississippi can update their registration online through the Secretary of State’s website at www.yallvote.sos.ms.gov.

The Nov. 5 general election will be an open election, which means voters do not have to give a party preference.

“All voters will get the same ballot in their precinct,” Dionne said.

Also, she said, the Brunswick Precinct at the Eagle Lake Volunteer Fire Department will be open for the general election. The precinct was relocated during the backwater flooding for the primary and the runoff elections in August.

According to the Warren County Circuit Clerk’s office, 86 people cast absentee ballots as of Friday morning. The deadline for absentee voting is Nov. 2.
