A Vicksburg woman was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $6,000 bond charged with residential burglary.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said Deborah Sue McCormick, 46, who gave an address as Battlefield Mobile Home Park on North Frontage Road, is also charged with giving false information to law enforcement.

According to sheriff’s office reports, deputies received a 911 call about 11:30 p.m. Sunday from a man who said he and his family came home and found a woman in their home in the 6000 block of Indiana Avenue. The man held the woman at gunpoint until deputies arrived and took McCormick into custody.

She was first taken by ambulance to Merit Health River Region for an evaluation then to the Warren County jail. At first, according to the reports, McCormick gave deputies false information, but they were able to determine her identity.

Pace said McCormick told deputies she was looking for a place to sleep.

“We have not determined why she was in that neighborhood or why she selected that house,” he said. “She was unfamiliar to the family.”
