The city of Vicksburg’s sewer department will close a portion of Clay Street beginning Wednesday morning.

The department announced Tuesday afternoon the road will be down to one lane while crews repair a problem with a sewer line beneath the street.

There is no timeline as to how long the work will take or when the street will be fully reopened.
