WC Softball Spooktacular
The Sixth Annual Warren Central Halloween Spooktacular softball game is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. at Halls Ferry Park’s National Field.

The game is an annual fundraiser that features a co-ed slow-pitch softball game between Warren Central’s baseball and softball teams. Players dress up in costumes for the game and hand out candy to children in the stands between innings.

Admission is $5 and children under 12 get in free. All proceeds will benefit the family of Natalie McMillian, a Vicksburg teenager who recently passed away following a battle with cancer.

VHS Haunted House
Vicksburg High School will present its “Nightmare on Drummond Street” haunted house on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. at the high school. Admission is $5 and children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All patrons should enter the school on the Confederate Avenue side.

Monster Mash at Moss
Hinds Community College will host the eighth annual Monster Mash at Moss charity softball game on Oct. 29, at Joe G. Moss Field on the Raymond campus.

The game is an annual fundraiser that features a co-ed slow-pitch softball game between Hinds’ baseball and softball teams. Players dress up in costumes for the game and engage in activities with the children in attendance.

The event will feature character and costume introductions as well as a “Trunk-or-Treat” event beginning at 6 p.m. That will be followed by the softball game at 6:30.
All proceeds from the fundraiser go directly to the Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson. General admission is $5, or $2 with a Hinds ID. Children under 12 are admitted free.

Kudzu Classic soccer
The Kudzu Classic youth soccer tournament is scheduled for Nov. 9 and 10 at Sports Force Parks on the Mississippi in Vicksburg.

The tournament is for teams in the 9U to 18U age groups. The entry fee ranges from $375 to $425 per team, depending on the age group, and there is a three-game guarantee. Holtz to speak at MC
Former Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz will be the keynote speaker for the 2019 Dr. Don Phillips Mississippi College Athletics Dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

The dinner is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Anderson Hall on the Clinton campus. For Platinum and Gold sponsors, a pre-dinner visit with Holtz will be held on the third floor of Alumni Hall beginning at 5:30 p.m.
