Eagle Lake will open to the general public Friday.

The executive director of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, with the approval of the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks announced Thursday recreational boating, fishing and commercial fishing on Eagle Lake will again be allowed effective Friday.

State officials, in their announcement Thursday, said the Mississippi River has “receded to a level that an exigent high-water event no longer exists and that debris removal at Eagle Lake is sufficiently complete.”
