Drugs discovered during traffic stop early Tuesday

A Vicksburg man faces drug charges after his arrest during a traffic stop on Mission 66 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard early Tuesday morning.

Anthony Wyatt, 31, 2727 Alcorn Drive, is accused of possession of Ecstasy after a bag of pills later identified as the drug was found in his car during the stop for a traffic violation about 12:58 a.m.

Wyatt is being held without bail in the Madison County Jail pending an initial appearance Wednesday in Municipal Court.

In other cases:

• A Glock Model 19 .40-caliber handgun was reported taken about 5:09 p.m. Monday from a 2014 Toyota parked in the 900 block of Jackson Street.

• Shots were reported fired about 2:58 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of Harrison Street. Officers responding to the call found no evidence that shots were fired.

• Shots were reported fired about 7:34 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of Cherry Street. Officers responding found no evidence shots were fired.

• Shots were reported fired about 7: 43 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Grove Street. Officers responding to the call found no evidence shots were fired.
