Eugene David Payne passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at the age of 78. 

 A memorial service will be noon Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, at McClain-Hays Funeral Home, 1002 Main St., Philadelphia.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service. 

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. at Gulde Cemetery near Pelahatchie. 

 Eugene was born Jan. 23, 1941, in Jackson. Eugene graduated from Raymond High School in 1961 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry from Mississippi College in Clinton in 1964. 

 Survivors include wife, Frances Payne; sons, David and Kevin Payne; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

 Eugene was preceded in death by father, Roy; mother, Mary Alice; sisters, Marjorie and Myrna; and brother, Roy Clifford, Jr.
