Man reportedly shot in face while driving on Farmer Street

A Vicksburg man was transported to Merit Health River Region Wednesday after reportedly being shot in the face while driving.

According to officials with the Vicksburg Police Department, after being shot, the man drove himself to the Police Department on Veto Street just before 2 a.m. Wednesday. He told investigators he had suffered the injuries when driving along Farmer Street.

According to the victim, no one else was in the vehicle.

Officials reported the man did sustain a gunshot wound to the mouth, where the shot entered one side of the face and exited the other side.

After arriving at the department, he was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center where was listed in stable condition.
