City crew repairing gas leak

Natural gas service has been cut off to several streets in Vicksburg while city gas department crews repair a gas line break on Lee Street.

City water and gas superintendent Dane Lovell said gas service has been cut off to customers on Capri Drive, Iowa Boulevard, Iowa Avenue, Patricia Street and Stout and Yazoo streets while repairs are made. Service was expected to be restored by midnight.

He said the break was caused by a contractor working on Lee Street in the area between Stadium Drive and Army Navy Drive.
