The story surrounding a man reportedly shot in the face while driving along Farmer Street Wednesday has changed.

According to officials with the Vicksburg Police Department, initial reports the victim was traveling alone were incorrect. Friday, officials said the victim was now reportedly shot in the face by a passenger in the vehicle.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday, the victim, after being shot, drove himself to the police department on Veto Street. Once there, officials found the victim did have both an entry wound and an exit wound in his face. The gunshot also severely damaged the victim’s jaw.
