The Vicksburg Police Department, in a release Tuesday, reported officers responded to three auto burglary calls Monday in less than a two-hour period.

In the burglaries, thieves made away with items ranging from money, credit cards and a weapon.

The first reported auto burglary reported was Monday at 4:31 p.m. when the victim came to the police department and reported someone had taken a purse containing a wallet, driver’s license, credit and debit cards, and cash from a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu on the 400 block of Longview Street.

The second auto burglary was reported less than an hour later, at 5:13 p.m., when officers responded to a call on Jackson Street. There, a victim said someone stole a diaper bag and wallet from a 2014 Nissan Rogue, which contained cash, a debit card, credit cards, a driver’s license and a social security card.

The final call came at 6:26 p.m. from a home on Longview Street. When officers arrived, the victim said someone stole a .38caliber Smith & Wesson snubbed-nose revolver from a 2018 Nissan Rogue.

In other reports:

• Monday, at 1:42 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 4200 block of Halls Ferry Road in reference to a burglary. The victim reported someone stole handguns, rifles, a watch and cash.

• Monday, at 9:13 p.m. officers responded to a home in the 100 block of Bering Street in reference to an auto theft. The complainant said someone stole a 1998 GMC Sierra truck from their driveway.
