Crime reports: Police respond after shots fired into Martha Street home

Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department Tuesday at 4 a.m. responded to the 1700 block of Martha Street in reference to a call for shots fired.

When officers arrived, the homeowner reported someone had fired shots into her home.

Officers did find holes in the side of the house and discovered shell casings in front of the house.

According to reports, five people were in the home at the time of the shooting.

In other reports:

• Tuesday, officers responded 2224 South Frontage Road at 7:47 a.m. in reference to a stolen vehicle. The victim reported someone stole a 2004 Ford F-150.  According to the department, the truck was recovered early Wednesday at Merit Health River Region.

• Tuesday, a complainant entered the police station shortly after 11:30 a.m.to report an auto burglary that occurred in the 700 block of Santa Rosa Drive. The complainant reported someone removed a driver’s license, a social security card and a debit card from her 2006 Mazda 626.  The vehicle had been left unlocked.

• Tuesday, at 6:58 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of Alcorn Drive in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found no evidence of suspicious activity or of shots fired.
