Richard ‘Dickie’ Martin Sr.

Richard “Dickie” Martin Sr. passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020. He was 69 years old.

Dickie was a life long resident of Vicksburg and a member of Triumph Church. He owned Martin Electric Inc. and retired as Captain at the Vicksburg Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman, whom loved to hunt and fish.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Patricia Everett and Harry L. Martin Sr., and his granddaughter, Katherine “Katie” Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Martin; his two sons, Richard E. Martin Jr. (Ann) and Tony Cook (Kris); his three daughters, Hayley Dawn Martin, Monica Jenkins (Cliff) and Donna Suell; his brother, Harry L. Martin Jr.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral home Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at noon. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2 p.m. Burial will continue at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Greg Pickering, Leon Dotson, David White, Jeff Wright, Tommy Runnels and Tank Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will include Bill Libbey, Bobby Middleton, John Bell, Richard Cowart, Travis Vance, Pete Buford and Daryl Hollingsworth.

Pastor Mike Fields will be officiating the service.
