Crime reports: Shooting victim not cooperating in investigation

Investigators with the Vicksburg Police are continuing to look into the Wednesday afternoon shooting of an 18-year-old male at the New Main Apartments, 2727 Alcorn Drive.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired at the apartments about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday and later learned the 18-year-old was taken by car to Merit Health River Region with a gunshot wound. The wound was not considered life-threatening, according to the police department.

Police said the unidentified teen was not cooperating with investigators probing the shooting.

• Wednesday, at 6:32 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Buena Vista Drive in reference to a theft. The victim reported someone entered a Kia Sedona and took a wallet that contained four Social Security cards. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

• Wednesday, at 8:41 a.m. officers responded to the 600 block of Locust Street in reference to a theft. The complainant reported someone went into a 2019 Dodge Charger and stole a wallet containing $75 cash, debit cards and a collection of coins.  The vehicle had been left unlocked.
